Rumble Blocks

The idea of our ground breaking Rumble blocks came about as a result of seeing the poor state of the original cement blocks were used in the early stages of the BRT-JRA projects.

The tops of the concrete based blocks were breaking up and the yellow paint would peel off after two weeks, thus making them a high maintenance task to upkeep.

The installation was also tedious and expensive. A trench would have to be dug 250mm deep into the tarmac to lay the cumbersome blocks into position.

The ACD (Vitalcor) rumble block was designed for easy fitment and would never have to be painted as the colour is impregnated into the marble and resin based material.
Various designs were used for different applications such as bicycle lanes which are growing in popularity.
